WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

  • The incumbent will be representing R&D in Nutrition Sri Lanka country Category Business Team (CCBT) and own & drive the R&D program aligned to business growth agenda.
  • Be a member of South Asia Nutrition R&D leadership team and actively participate and leverage regional expertise for Sri Lanka business growth and R&D delivery.
  • Will be responsible to lead the local R&D team and deliver product superiority, product logic savings for gross margin improvement and to steer the sustainability targets for improving nutrition credentials of our products and to reduce plastics for GHG emission reduction.
  • Will be responsible to business partner with CCBT leader and marketing team to build multiyear innovation funnel for Sri Lanka nutrition business in collaboration with regional R&D team.
  • The role holder is responsible to work seamless with procurement, Supply Chain to support quality agenda, efficiency projects and technology implementation projects for resilience and business continuity.
  • Will be responsible to vision, scope capability building roadmap in alignment with business growth ambition and effectively build local/regional and global partnerships to be future fit.
  • Will be working together with country regulatory, legal team to drive compliance to Internal Unilever protocols, External regulatory environment while developing product/process and technology solutions with respect to commitment to safety, environment, claim support, specification management etc.
  • Represent Unilever in external forums and conferences.
  • Be an active member of Sri Lanka R&D site leadership team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

Candidate should:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in food technology or any of the science disciplines Chemistry, biology, physics or chemical engineering.
  • Have 15+ years of experience in industrial R&D in FMCG industry.
  • Have strong experience in foods, functional food formulations and proven track record of in-market delivery.
  • Possess strong understanding of food product development, sustainability requirements, developing products to highest nutrition standards are preferred for the role.
  • Have strong technical project leadership skills and excellent project management skills.
  • Have clear evidence of leading and delivering to category agenda.
  • Possess strong business partnering skills with business first mind-set.
  • Evidence of managing and developing junior talents (Assistant Managers, Managers Senior Managers) is preferred.
  • Multistakeholder management and strong networking experience.
