Description

Dimension of the role : 

  • Procurement of fresh products for all allocated categories. 
  • Maintaining Category GP levels as per the company targets. 
  • Category Management and Merchandising in an allocated area of work. 
  • Processing necessary monthly reports in a timely manner. 
  • Building up a loyal supplier / Farmer base. 
  • Look for better deals and profitable suppliers. 
  • Direct Procurement Executives to get the best out of their categories as per the requirement of the company. 
  • Monitor the distribution of packing materials and essentials /commodities. 
  • Ensure the expected levels of fill rates of suppliers and their availability. 
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of warehouse stock balance through holding stocks based on outlet sales (under the approval of the Manager) 
  • Monitoring & managing the procurement Executives to reach Category GPs’ as per the agreed levels. 
  • Encourage procurement executives to Monitor & maintain product & supplier fill rates at the highest levels. 
  • Decide the items list for WHD and Monthly promo. schedule based on the availability of products. 
  • Ensure all promo claims are obtained as per the sales promotion carried out and send the same to Accounts Division on the stipulated time. 
  • Preparation of warehouse status reports ensuring accurate information under given deadlines, to gauge the availability levels of SKUs. 
  • Managing the product portfolio within the given category/categories. Manage the new additions and discontinuation of non-moving products in categories. 
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions. 
  • Be a part of PCM and provide information for product approval and approve the ordering of necessary goods and services 
  • Look for innovative products/services in view of reducing cost. 
  • Ensuring the warehouse inventory report is properly maintained. Communication of returns/short expiry to suppliers & follow-up whenever necessary. 
  • Engage in Category Reviews in each quarter & take the required action to improve the profitability of the category. 
  • Get the market research done every week and maintain reports. 
  • Provide information for the strategic decision-making process. 


Minimum requirements: 

  • G.C.E O/L and G.C.E A/L 
  • Degree or diploma from SMMI /courses on Procurement or related areas. 
  • Good IT knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PPT) 
  • Minimum 03 years of experience as a Procurement Executive or in a similar capacity in a retail environment. 
  • Minimum 1 year in a management role 
  • Fluent knowledge in both oral and written to complement the effectiveness of the job role. 
  • Consistency and accuracy and be proactive for timely actions, and initiatives to prevent disruptions to the workflow of the operation – HO and the Outlets. 
  • Ability to reach out to all stakeholders involved in the Business. 
  • Ability to work through numerous and varied decisions taken under pressure.
