Description
A Product Specialist at IFS designs and maintains functionality included in IFS products. Their work is focused on interpreting and analyzing business requirements to create fit-for-purpose and enterprise-grade software. Business value, usability and solution consistency are key aspects of this work.Someone in this role uses their functional industry know-how to design and maintain the products in a way that ensures product sustainability throughout the product’s lifecycle. Product Specialists at IFS demonstrate a strong commitment to the product quality and takes proactive action to prevent issues from arising and resolve them quickly and effective when they still do occur.
Qualifications
- Continuously expanding your functional and technical domain knowledge is a very important part of being a Product Specialist at IFS.
- A university degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in a field relevant to the functional area of responsibility.
- Preference will be given to those with experience using BI and analytics tools.
- Experience creating specifications, test data sets and data models is desirable.
Responsibilities
- To participate in design reviews and to apply sound and established software design practices and principles is part of the day-to-day work. So is defining and using design patterns, quality metrics, test cases and best practices.
- A Product Specialist at IFS continuously expands their business process domain knowledge, as well as technical knowledge and shares this knowledge to guide others.
- Functionally design fit for purpose software based on functional requirements and strategic direction
- Ensuring business value, usability, and solution consistency
- Ensuring the functional design is easy to understand
- Using sound and established functional design practices and principles
- Adhering to IFS’s standards and guidelines
- In support of Program Management, taking lead on tasks and in teams
- Functionally test, review, and maintain software
- Qualifying, locating, and resolving software flaws
- Evaluating and suggesting alternative solutions
- Defining functional test flows and ensuring appropriate test coverage
- Being able to review, understand and make improvement suggestions on functional design
- Create limited functions using our declarative tooling
- Realizing own simple software designs in functional software using declarative approaches (e.g., IFS Aurena / Marble)
- Create documentation, presentation, and training material
- Engage with requirement owners and other stakeholders
- Ensuring customer satisfaction and solution fit
- Providing solution options and estimations
- Performing pre-studies and prototype new or changed functionality
- Share knowledge, guide and train colleagues
- Ensuring competency spread
- Providing direction, by mentoring and coaching others
- Contribute in activities related to product/program management
