Seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer to design and engineer the overall logical and technical architecture of Wiley’s Cloud, Office, and WAN (Wide Area Networks) networks and related capabilities in line with the overall infrastructure roadmaps that are maintained by Enterprise Architecture. You will develop and own the standards and maintain the high-level design plan for the overall logical and technical architecture components for this domain. This individual will provide technical thought leadership and design specifications which can then be implemented in a sustainable and repeatable fashion to support business functional requirements across all Wiley Wide and Local Area Network technologies.

The Lead Network Engineer will gain organizational commitment for all high-level Network plans, whether wired or wireless, that enable connectivity within and across cloud, offices, and data centers, and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans. The Lead Network Engineer will work closely with Enterprise Architecture to evaluate new technologies and assess the impacts of those on future roadmaps as well as migrations plans for technology refreshes and upgrades.

  • Strategic thinker who can evaluate high-leverage opportunities to drive business growth Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert level experience with an emphasis on Cloud/Data Center/networking/security technologies, SD-WAN, Load Balancer and DNS design, implementation, and support
  • 10+ years of experience designing enterprise-wide Cloud, WAN, LANs, VLANs, Wireless LANs, virtual networks, etc. or significant related experience
  • Hands on experience required with AWS, Azure, and/or other cloud providers, architecting and supporting network and security solutions
  • Experience with scaling cloud services and designing disaster recovery solutions, and optimizing costs
  • Experience with automation, AI, and intent based networking a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communications with ability to express / translate business needs into technology assisted solutions
  • Ability to assess various technology capabilities and assess their applicability to Wiley’s needs, present and future
  • Technical knowledge across the various layers of the network
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Enthusiastic to learn and keep abreast of the latest technologies, willing to adopt best practices
