Manager - Financial Reporting

The person will be responsible for supporting the implementation of IFRS 17 at Union Assurance that includes execution, and collaboration with the Actuarial team and IT team to ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met for the Finance Division.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Drive the development of IFRS 17 to match the current reconciliation process and templates at Union Assurance.
• Monitor the budgets & forecasts in relation to the IFRS 17 implementation project.
• Develop the chart of accounts, mapping, ledger postings, and draft reporting formats under IFRS 17.
• Assist in the development of position papers for IFRS 17 reporting requirements.
• Review and test IFRS 17 models which includes reserve movement checks/reconciliations, cashflow checks at both the aggregate and policy levels,etc.
• Prepare analytical dashboards and management reports (P/L, balance sheet etc.) with actionable insights and present to senior leadership.
• Liaison with the actuary team, consultants, auditors, regulatory bodies, and cross-functional team members as per business needs
• Collaborate with IFRS 17 Implementation consultants to ensure the company meets the set-out business objectives through IFRS 17 implementation.
• Keep abreast of all updates and changes regarding IFRS 17 and related standards in the insurance industry.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting /finance/ management with a professional qualification in CASL/ACCA/CIMA.
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience in an Assistant Manager capacity, with 8–10 years of overall experience in Financial Reporting/ Accounting role.
• Hands on experience and in-depth knowledge of overall financial processes, practices, and policies.
• Understanding of IFRS accounting standards and recent updates.
• Excellent planning and execution, relationship management, and good communication skills.
• Strong adaptability, work under pressure and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
