Legal Officer

Position Overview:

As the Legal Officer of North Western Region , you will be responsible for providing legal services to the Region and provide advices for legal issues related to litigations & Credit to branches of the region.

Candidate Profile:

• Attorney-at-Law with minimum of 3 years’ experience in legal practice.
• A Bachelors degree or LLB or equivalent qualification from a recognized university/professional body.
• Notarial License to practice English & Sinhala in Relevant Judicial zone.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills with the ability to work in cross functional teams.
• IT Literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to bank policies and procedures while maintaining high ethical standards across the region's legal operations.
• Analyze, review, and manage civil and/or criminal litigation issues, including high-value cases, credit matters, and title reports, providing necessary advice and follow-up.
• Directly supervise the maintenance of case records and legal systems, coordinate with officials to manage legal subsystems, and recommend suitable panel lawyers
• Handle and manage notarial works, including the preparation and execution of mortgage bonds, lease agreements, and other required documents, ensuring proper registration.
• Lead, manage, and develop legal services in line with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements, ensuring the delivery of quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused services, while achieving revenue and recovery targets.
