Description

Wiley is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our exciting, rapidly growing team in Sri Lanka. You will define and execute the automation strategy for your project(s) and help drive technical initiatives across the quality engineering practice including implementing/enhancing frameworks, evaluating new tools/frameworks, and setting up guidelines and best practices in using tools/frameworks. Strong analytical skills are a must and extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in using open-source tools for API/Web test automation in both functional and non-functional testing is essential. The individual should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences. 

 

How you will make an impact:

  • Participate in Product increment planning and solution design sessions. Analyze and provide feedback on artifacts delivered throughout the development life cycle.
  • Analyze requirements and come up with Test strategies, plans and approaches for the releases
  • Conduct reviews on all artifacts for accuracy, coverage, and clarity
  • Implement and/or enhance Test automation frameworks based on project requirements to improve efficiencies.
  • Define guidelines and best practices for Tools/Frameworks and methodologies
  • Create and maintain test plans, test suites, and test scripts for test automation and non- functional testing.
  • Review test plans, results, and guide team(s) in Interpreting results and identifying trends. 
  • Provide technical solutions for day-to-day challenges during functional or non-functional testing activities  
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Scrum team
  • Support in Hiring, Onboarding and Technical training activities
  • Drive technical initiatives to improve the overall quality of the QE platform

 

What we look for:

  • BSc in computer science or related field is required.
  • 5 years’ experience in Quality engineering with exposure to manual, automation, and non-functional testing
  • Extensive Hands-on experience in open source as well as commercial tools for API and UI automation
  • Hands on experience in non-functional testing tools such as Jmeter, Load runner, burp suite, NVDA etc.
  • Experience with ATDD, BDD and TDD practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to give attention to details as well as the big picture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
  • ISTQB advance level qualification will be an added advantage.
