Key purpose of the Job

The Merchandiser - Procurement is responsible for optimizing raw material usage and coordinating the sourcing process, from enquiry to purchase order, for the designated raw material category or customer account within the Business Unit. This entails managing the entire procurement process, from PO to pay. Furthermore, the job holder is responsible for executing the duties and responsibilities related to the organization's Health & Safety guidelines, instructions, and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the procurement of raw materials, including pre-order confirmation, PO release, and RM follow-up.
  • Responsible for sourcing raw materials during the development stage, in line with the requirements of the Design & Development teams.
  • Ensure the achievement of inventory and cost targets for the assigned category/customer account through optimal ordering, reduction of write-offs, and other costs.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management objectives.
  • Should bring the RM on time to avoid any lost hours in the plant.
  • Initiate weekly status calls with suppliers. 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Textile/Packaging Management/Materials Management or any other relevant stream

Experience

1 - 3 years of experience in Procurement/Merchandising function​
