Description

Employee on site must:

  • Be able to speak and accept instructions in either English or Arabic
  • Be healthy and physically capable of undertaking any work assigned to them
  • Be capable of receiving and following instructions
  • Be fit and able to work in confined spaces
  • Be capable of sitting an oral trade test examination given by the Company in English / Arabic
  • Have no physical or mental impediment and be capable of undertaking strenuous manual work in adverse conditions.

Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Oil Spill Response, at least 5 years of which should have been in a supervisory capacity.

Have previous working experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry.

Knowledgeable of specific safety requirements and capable of assessing and responding to all types of land and sea-based oil spills in a responsible and safe manner.

Be knowledgeable and experienced in the methods and techniques used in responding to all types of land and sea-based oil spills.

Be able to pass a Permit Training Course and be certified by the Company to receive and hold the “Permits to Work” badge.

Be a “hands-on” supervisor and competent in organizing, leading, and directing a workforce.

Be a competent and rational problem solver.

Be able to read, write and converse in English and have good communication skills.

Be able to write and prepare Method Statements.

Be able to prepare detailed schedules and plans.

Be able to coordinate work in the field in accordance with the appropriate drawings, schedules, work procedures, work plans etc.

Be able to follow a bar chart plan and meet Company’s deadlines.

Be able to provide accurate daily work progress reports. Be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

Have the ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision, be self-motivated, and be able to control a multi-national workforce.

Have a thorough understanding and appreciation of the skill requirements of the supervisors and foremen under his control.

Have knowledge of procedures, rules, and regulations that are typical to working in an Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry.

Be fully conversant with the content of the Company's Manual "Contractor Guide to Safety", latest edition.

Possess a sound working knowledge of the Contractor's Safety Management Systems & Quality Assurance standards.

Hold a valid driving license. GCC
